Shane Lowry wins the Open, PGA Tour Updates

The Open | PGA Schedule | FedEx | OWGR

Ireland’s own Shane Lowry is the Champion Golfer of the year, overcoming brutal conditions to win his first major. Lowry shot 67, 67, 63, and 72 for a total 269 (-15) to capture the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush, which is not too far from Lowry’s home course in Ireland. Lowry’s closest competitor was six strokes back (Tommy Fleetwood, -9) and it was really never in doubt after Saturday’s 63 (-8). Congrats to Shane on the major win!
