Week 24 of the English Premier League is almost here, and Social Mike breaks down the latest action. Check out what teams are qualifying for Champions, Europe, and the latest EPL table.
EPL Power Rankings
Champions League Qualifiers
1. Liverpool (60 points)
Previous Rank: 1
Liverpool has gotten back on track after suffering the first defeat of the season, they continue to fire on all cylinders as they have a goal difference of +41. Next Leicester City makes the trip to Anfield and tries to add another L to Liverpool’s season in what should be a tough matchup.
Next Match: Leicester City
2. Man City (56 points)
Previous Rank: 2
First club to reach 100 goals in all competitions, no surprise that they have a ridiculous +45 goal difference in the EPL this season. The only reason they aren’t ranked at the top is well there’s Liverpool, The noisy neighbors have Newcastle next and should come out on top with 3 points.
Next Match: Newcastle United
3. Tottenham (51 points)
Previous Rank: 3
The Spurs have now allowed a 9 point difference from them reaching the top spot of the standings. They now have been hit with 2 major injuries as Dele Ali and Harry Kane are both out, big test for Pochettino and the Spurs as try and hold on to the 3rd spot.
Next Match: Watford F.C.
4. Chelsea (45 points)
Previous Rank: 4 ↨
The Blues stay put with 47 points as they were defeated in the last match by Arsenal. Now the Blues have seen their point cushion disappear to just 3 points, as red hot Man U and Arsenal who just beat them are on their heels at 44 points. Help is headed to Stanford Bridge as Gonzalo Higuaín has already been announced at the club.
Next Match: Bournemouth
5. Manchester United (44 points)
Previous Rank: 6 ↑
Finally, Man U cracks my top 5 and the Ole streak is still in full force as the Red Devils are now 7-0 under coach Solskjær (make it 8). Tied with Arsenal at 44 points, Manchester United will look to start gaining some ground as they host Burnley United in what should earn Ole’s boys another 3 points.
Next Match: Burnley United
Europa League Qualifiers
6 Arsenal, 13-5-5 (44 pts, 5th in EPL)
The Gunners have dropped out of my top 5 rankings even after an impressive win vs Chelsea (cough cough 3-1). Arsenal has just lost Bellerin for the season and has been a bit too inconsistent in the last couple of games. They still manage to hold on 5th in the standings luckily for them Cardiff City is next on the schedule
Up Next: Cardiff City
7Watford F.C., 9-6-8 (33 pts, 7th in EPL)
Watford has impressed as they stay put at 7th with 33 points, very tough task up next as they have a matchup with the injury-riddled Spurs. Tottenham is still favorites to come out with a victory, but the game still needs to be played.
Up Next: Tottenham
8Wolverhampton, 9-5-9 (32 pts, 8th in EPL)
They got an impressive victory over Leicester City 4-3, knocking them out of a Europa League qualifying spot for the moment. The Wolves play host to West Ham United where they plan to earn the 3 points and hope to jump into 7th over Watford.
Up Next: West Ham United
|2. Man. City||23||18||2||3||56|
|6. Manchester United||23||13||5||5||44|
|7. Watford ↑||23||9||4||8||33|
|8. Wolves ↑||23||9||5||9||32|
|9. Leicester |
|10. West |
